Mascara diaries

Mascaras really are a girls best friend and can make the slightest bit of difference. I am forever trying out different mascaras hoping to find the best one out there. Over the years iv tried cheap mascara's expensive  mascara's and at the grand age of 25 i think i have achieved my goal and have found the best mascara out there. Here's some reviews of some of the many mascara's i have tired over the years.

Products i have tried and tested

Rimmel Scandal Eyes

As a last resource or end of the month money troubles Rimmel is always been there for me when iv needed last minute make-up. Only being £6.99 its great mascara, but i find makes your eyelashes thicker but not in a good way soooo many clumps of mascara in my eyelashes and i find myself picking at them through out the day then I'm left with no mascara. or if i have managed not to touch my eyelashes its running down my face by 3pm.
Price- £6.99
Product rating ** 2/5

Rimmel Argan Oil Mascara

Yet again i found myself buying another rimmel product when I have less money. I bought this whilst travelling as i didn't have enough money to buy my usual Benefit mascara. I thought oooo Argan oil this will soften my eyelashes throughout the day. I did like the mascara my eyelashes looked lovely but I'm not sure if it was the oil but when it got in my eye oh my it was so sore and ended up washing all my eye make up off. Thats the only downside about this mascara but it could just be me with sensitive eyes. I think this is a great mascara if you haven't got a lot got a lot of money in the bank.
Price - £5.00
Product Rating *** 3/5

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

When i as my friends can you recommend me a great cheap mascara all my friends say get maybelline its amazing,  and its been around for years so i thought wow a oldie but a goodie. Well as much as i like the thickness it adds to my lashes it really doesn't last long at all i found that my eyelashes had no mascara on them at all at the end of the day. At beginning i thought awww nice mascara at the end of the day not so much.
Price - £6.00
Product Rating ** 2/5

Benefit They're real Mascara

WOW this mascara does everything what it says on the tin i am an absolute lover of this mascara and i would recommend it to ANYONE! i do admit it is slightly expensive but if it works add the extra cash. It genuinely makes your eyelashes look fake. I tend to buy this in duty free and stock up as they do such amazing deals. I would like it to be a bit more waterproof but over all an amazing mascara.
Price - £16.00
Product Rating **** 4/5

Kiss me Heroine Mascara

Recently I spent 4 days in Tokyo and after my Asian friends telling me how amazing make up is over there i thought its only cheap il give it a try! WOW WOW! I don't think i will try any other mascara again. This is why i gave my former favourite mascara a 4/5 only because how amazing this mascara is i loved it do much i bought 4 to last me. But i am pretty sure you can by this awesome mascara on amazon. The packaging looks so cheap and childish it looks like kids make-up but do not be deceived  by the packaging. I tried the mascara and instantly loved the way it made my eyelashes 10 times longer they really did look like fake eyelashes even my mum asked if i had fake eyelashes on. After a long day out in the humidity the mascara didn't budge it still looked just as fresh as when i first applied it i was amazed. So trying to take it off with a make up was impossible  just wasn't moving. Even after a shower and a swim in the pool it just was not coming off. I was absolutely mind blown how good it was. So after researching how to remove it i bought some oil make up remover and thank god it took it off. I can't express anymore how amazing this mascara is and it being so cheap. I'm not sure how cheap it will be on amazon but its defiantly worth it. I also started to read up more on the mascara and apparently its sold in America in Sephora with a whole new packaging and triple the price. Even after a 10 hour night flight my mascara didn't seem to move. I highly recommend this amazing mascara and i love the benefit one but with this one being so cheap i think this is a new option. LOVE IT!!!
Price - £3.00

Eyeliner diaries

I have been using eyeliners since I was old enough to wear make-up and I have been though them all, trying to find the best one out there. I have tried expensive products even cheap products. I wear eyeliner every single day so when I'm looking for a eyeliner I want it to last all day and nothing that will break the bank, as I need to buy it at least once every 2 months.

Products I have tried and tested

Rimmel liquid eyeliner: As a last resort Rimmel has always been their for me, when I haven't had the funds also when I was younger Rimmel was the only product around. The brush glides on the eye lovely very smooth product. Its a great product it lasts but not all day. It does fade throughout the day. Its not as striking its quite a faded product.
Price: £4.99
Product rating: *** 3/5

Mac tattoo liquid eyeliner pen: I bought this product whilst in LA a couple of years ago the sales adviser really sold it to me, when I tested it on my hand, it was so opaque it looked great. I used it continuously for 2 weeks and which the heat it lasted pretty well. But after those 2 weeks the eyeliner had ran out I was so disappointed. As it wasn't that cheap compared to what I usually pay. This eyeliner was a pen which in my opinion does run out very quickly compared to others.
Price: $18.00
Product rating: ** 2/5

Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner: I bought this eyeliner a while ago, someone told me it was a great liquid eyeliner and it lasts all day, well they were wrong, this eyeliner was terrible. The application was rough and it wasn't smooth at all. It also peeled off throughout the day so I would find bits of it on my face which would then leave marks on my face not a great product at all.

Price: £3.00
Product rating: * 1/5

Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner: I had this as a birthday present from my house mate, as I'm such an eyeliner fan. I was always asking her about it and she said its a great product. And it was I loved this product its great for going on a night out if you want a strong looking eyeliner. The only problem I found was that its not so great if on your the go as it needs an eyeliner brush for application. The gel was very smooth to put on a glided lovely especially when you are wearing eyelashes for a night out. I lasted a while but its not a product I can afford if I'm wearing it everyday.

Price: £22.00
Product rating: **** 4/5

Topshop liquid eyeliner: I cannot boast enough about this product it is absolutely amazing and I am so upset that Topshop don't sell it anymore. This product is amazing, I bought it as someone had recommended it to me and having discount I thought it would give it a go. And I'm glad i did. the application is very smooth and it lasts all day! also this product has lasted me a year and its still going strong. This product is great value for money. Whilst working in America I was worried it would run out, so I bought one Rimmel eyeliner with me to tide me over. I didn't use it once. I love this product, because it lasted so long. Whilst I was in New York I asked the make-up adviser in Topshop if they had the product to see if I was in any luck. But no they didn't stock it anymore but she did say that it will be back soon, its out of season at the moment so fingers crossed and It might make a comeback. So PLEASE Topshop bring it back.
Price: £7.00
Product rating ***** 5/5

Topshop Magic Eyeliner pen: After being astounded by Topshop's eyeliner product and it being discontinued I thought I would give this product a go. Its a lovely product glides on smoothly and very handy for on the go as its a pen. It does go on smoothly like the other Topshop product but i don't think it lasts all day. But Topshop must be doing something right with their make-up products as it hasn't ran out yet. and I don't have a great expectation for pen eyeliners. But its still going and I have had it for about 6 months now. I thought it was a lovely product but just to tide me over from missing out on the other eyeliner. Amy used this product and she wasn't to impressed with it.
Price: £6.00
Product rating *** 3/5

Sephora Liquid eyeliner : As much as I LOVE the Topshop product, this product is amazing. I bought this product whilst in Hawaii, whilst visiting some of the Sephora stores I tested out some of the eyeliner products and thought why not give this one a chance its cheap and from previous sephora products I have had they have been pretty good. I actually should be thankful that Sephora isn't in this country as I would be constantly poor. This Store is a mecca for make-up lovers all brands under one roof including their own  brand which is so good. This eyeliner product is amazing it may be a little bit better than the Topshop eyeliner. But we shall see how long it lasts iv had it since September and its still going strong. This product glides perfectly and is so dark really stands and lasts ALL day. I can go to work in the morning and going out after work for drinks without topping up my eyeliner its great for someone on the go who doesn't have time to top-up. All round amazing product. I wish they sold this product in the UK, the closest store is Paris. But I'm sure they deliver to the UK I will have to investigate. I wouldn't use any other product........unless Topshop bring their eyeliner out again then I wont have to travel to France to buy my eyeliner.
Price $13.00
Product rating ***** 5/5 ( I would give it 10/10)

I hope this blog post helped you out with your eyeliner troubles, We would love to hear your comments on what you think of the eyeliners you have used. :)

TOPSHOP hits LA with style, street party

Topshop has finally hit LALA town, we have been waiting for months for the grand opening of the new flagship store in The Grove LA, it's about time they opened a store in California as, 25% of online purchases were from California so it's only right that they opened on the west side. The store is 30,000ft the biggest store they have in the USA. It has two very spacious floors. The grand opening was an absolute success Topshop hosted a "Big British street party" showing LA how us brits party. The grove is perfect for a street party just like this as its all pedestrianised. Even though The Grove has been the top of the list. Phillip Green had other LA locations such as Beverly Hills, Glendale and Third street promenade. But  like Phillip we think Topshop at the Grove is a perfect location for the fashionista store. About 10,000 Topshop fans graced the grove which has been named as the biggest store opening yet. Overheard was a tourist saying "Is this how you open stores in LA" and a passer by replied with "yes sir this is how we do it" we love this comment. Customers started arriving at 5am for a 4.pm store opening. The lucky first 100 customers through the door got a $100 gift card to spend in Topshop. The famous Topshop ice cream van was there to give out swag bags which had gift cards ranging from $20-$1000 to have a $1000 to spend in Topshop JUST WOW!! The things we would buy. The street party had plenty of swag stands, printing personal t-shirts, Topshop temporary tattoos and cute little Topshop lemonade stands. Models dressed from head to toe in Topshop/Topman and had sweet vintage bicycles riding them up and down the street giving out Topshop swag bags containing water,Topshop magazine and gift cards. The street was decorated with balloons and true British bunting, it's like the jubalee decor all over again. The DJ pumped the tunes throughout the street, Demi Lovato performed on the Topshop stage she sang "give your heart a break" the fans screamed for Demi which could be heard all over LA. A mini catwalk show was held just minutes before the opening with models and special guest stars arriving in black London cabbies. Kate Bosworth, Demi Lovato, Chole Green and Phillip Green all opened the store as 10,000 customers watched them cut the ribbon. We love how Topshop is still sticking to their British roots.

Topshop LA pre-launch party

It's finally here the opening of Topshop LA we have been waiting for this for ages, after seeing the popup store on Melrose we were so excited to see a Topshop on the west coast. This is the fourth store to open on the other side of the pond. Appearing in states like New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. As we predicted Demi Levato was the chosen celeb to open the Flagship store. Demi is always papped in Topshop from head to toe. So it wasn't a suprise she would be the face of the flagship store. She even made her appearance at the opening party event in a leg cast and crutches, nothing was stopping her from attending the biggest fashion event in LA. Her leg cast even had style, which was black with silver studs all over it. Loving the broken leg style haha.

Kim K stole the show at the opening party wearing a black lace dress hiding her teeny baby bump. The event was held on cecconi's restaurant on Melrose. The lobby was full of neon pink and classic British Union jacks, and guests were served shepherd pies, fish & chips and ice cream cones, a flock of London cabbies parked in a row down the street outside the street. Still repping the true Brit style. Carrying on with the Brit style inside the restaurant was a Brit red telephone box style photo booth, where guests hogged the booth to have pictures with their friends. Odd photo combo was Chris brown and only way is Essex's Lauren pope.

The even was also described as "LA's weirdest fashion crowed" which we can totally see, perhaps it was the mixture of Hollywood's fine A-list and not so A-list Brit celebs. Celebs captured at the event were Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson, Emma Roberts, JLO (who had a little accident whilst at the party, a waiter accidentally poured tomato sauce all over her WHOOPS) to name a few that attended the event. We were a little suprised to find out that the Sugababes attended the event not only was it the Sugababes but the ORIGINAL Sugababes Siobhan and everything, very retro. Solonge Knowles performed at the event and rocked the show.Their was a slight competiton with the opening of Topshop as Tommy Hillfiger the same night was having his own opening event a couple of streets over on Robertsons Boulevard. Some celebs spilt between the event. We read a quote from Heat magazine and thought exactly the same thing and sooooo true. "LA now officially has everything, Ryan gosling,in n out burger, sunshine and Topshop" WE LOVE THIS!!!! Get us to LA permanently. We have an update on the OFFICAL opening day in the next blog post. We have some sneaky inside pictures of the store and WOW it's so pretty, bright and fresh.
