Hot Pants Hatred

Currently, Topshop have got a hot pants promotion where Kate Phelan (creative director) introduces the 5 ways to style your summer hot pants. However, they should note that this will only look attractive on girls who are size 6 or size 0! I went into Topshop Exeter on the weekend, hoping to find a decent pair of denim shorts for my holiday, however all I came across was 40 different pairs of hot pants. I chose 10 pairs and took them in to the fitting room, and every single pair was so distasteful and unflattering I decided to give up and am now reporting to the rest of the world my hatred for hot pants!

1-I am no beach whale, I am a size 10 in Topshop shorts and still they make me look at least 2 sizes bigger!

2-Why would Topshop (a trend-setter) high-street retail brand want to promote girls and women to portray a bad, unattractive image.  Women look a lot more attractive when wearing a pair of shorts which cover their bum cheeks.

3- Why would anyone want to draw unnecessary attention to themselves. If you were to wear your hot pants on holiday, in a foreign country, not only would it draw negative attention and you could look disrespectful.

The worst thing about this is that the rest of the high-street are now following suit. They need to offer decent size denim shorts for real size women. It’s no wonder why Topshop have priced their hot pants at a low price of £22 because there is just nothing to them!
